When a puppy does something it shouldn’t be doing the mother dog might issue a soft growl as a first warning just like we do with our kids. But if he does it again, she really lets him have it. She issues a strong, commanding bark that lets the pup know he’s in the wrong. She may even swat at him to knock him out of harm’s way. And it’s only after the pup acknowledges her authority that she nuzzles him to let him know that she still loves him.
